Now that the rumor of Christopher Nolan’s villain in the next Batman film will be The Riddler, their are contenders’ names thrown left and right. Two favorites for the film are current Joseph Gordon Levitt and Johnny Depp. The two would both be great for the film, Depp’s ability of being able to transform himself into the character would be amazing. Unfortunately, I do not believe Johnny Depp would be interested in this film.

JGL looks the part and has proven himself lately as a very talented actor.

Now the National Enquirer(most trustworthy news source in the world) is claiming Eminem wants to give the role a try. If you die Slimshaddy’s hair brown I could definitely see it though. Hell why not, he has rhyming experience. He just lacks the acting experience, but I am sure he can play a crazed maniac pretty well.

Now if Nolan ever gives Eminem a chance and he actually gets the part or does not get the part I think he should hire the man as a writer too. I think Eminem consulting on the rhymes of the Riddler would absolutely be amazing. Eminem’s songs have some of the funniest lines in them. I believe in the end the JGL will get the spot. He looks the part and has shown he can be crazy. Take my advice though and get Eminem on the writing team!

Now that Andrew Garfield is casted for the new Spider-Man film, they need to find his love interest. Now in the comics you will see that Peter Parker dated Gwen Stacey before he ever did Mary Jane. So of course his love interest in this new film will be Gwen Stacey. I like how they are trying to stick with the comics. Ever since Marvel has taken over their own films, they have done amazing.

In the last Spider-Man film, Bryce Dallas Howard played Gwen Stacey. The leading contenders right now are Lily Collins(The Blind Side), Emma Roberts, Imogen Poots(Fright Night), Ophelia Lovibond(Nowhere Boy), and possibly Teresa Palmer(I Am Number Four). I have not really heard of any of these girls besides Emma Roberts. I believe she will get cut just because she is a little more known.

My personal opinion I would go with Ophelia Lovibond. Change her hair to blonde and she looks like how Gwen Stacey did in the comics. I can really picture her and see her as it. I have never seen a film she has been in, and do not know how her acting is. Anyways, Hollywood has proven you don’t need to know how to act to be in a good film.

As you all know I just love comic books, and films based on comics. There has been a lot of casting in the new X-men film, X-Men:First Class. The most recent member to join the cast is Twilight actor, Edi Gathegi. You were hoping I would say Taylor Lautner didn’t you?

Edi plays the villianous vamp, Laurent. He will be playing the mutant, Darwin, who has powers to be able to adjust to the environment around him. For example, if he is being shot at with flames he can become flame resistant.

Now as an avid comic book fan, I will admit I did miss this mutant ever in the comics. It is only because he was in a few. It turns out he is a lost X-men. He was one of the original X-men, but was not written to be one till many years later. Darwin was part of a rescue team who went out in search of helping the original X-men.

It is official, the Avengers have united at ComicCon. People got their first look at Chris Evans as Captain America and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. A clip of Captain America was shown with Chris Evans in his gear and Hugo Weaving, Red Skull, pre-Red Skull look. Then the Thor cast came out and they watched a trailer for Thor that had Hemsworth fighting a lot and had a good amount of screen time for Natalie Portman.

After Thor was done there was another surprise, the Avengers logo came out with a narrative by Samuel L. Jackson. Jackson as his alter-ego Nick Fury, introduced his team of Avengers then. It brought the crowds to a roar as one by one he brought out everyone. Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson, Hemsworth, Evans, and Robert Downey Jr were now all on stage. Then Downey introduced two more additions to the team. Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and the confirmation of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

I am so excited and in ahhh. The Avengers film is going to be amazing. We all knew Renner was a front runner for Hawkeye. Now we have confirmation about Ruffalo as the Hulk which is awesome. I am just wondering now, is Hulk going to be the bad guy or a team member? In the comics Hulk was originally a bad guy at first, he was wild and the Avengers were united to stop him. They then contained him and made him a member of the team.

Comic Book nerds all over comicon this week were indeed a very lucky group. Not only do they get to see previews of great upcoming films, but they also get to meet a wide range of stars. I wish I could only afford to go to one myself. This year was extra special, the beautiful, Angelina Jolie made an appearance. It was here that she promoted her new film that is released today, Salt.

Jolie did all her own stunts in the film and she got some bumps and bruises from it too she stated. “My style got meaner and harder and darker, it wasn’t as pretty,” she said. “I think this is a better action movie than the ones I’ve done.”

A little update with some X-men: First Class news. As you all know I am a big comic book nerd. X-men:First Class has now announced that Kevin Bacon will be a villian in the film. I am guessing he will be a human and probably some anti-mutant hater military man.

Also they casted a young female to play Mystique. I don’t know why they are getting all these appearances from some mutants who don’t appear later on in X-men stories.

Here is a first look at Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern. I like the modernistic look at his costume. It should be an awesome movie. Green Lantern was always one of my favorite comic book characters. Green Lantern wears a ring that is powered with cosmic powers. He can pretty much create anything he wants with that ring. The Lantern group protects different parts of the universe. So there should be a lot of space creatures and everything in this film.

Well some big green news, Edward Norton will not be the Incredible Hulk in the Avengers movie. Marvel Studios confirmed that it is searching for a new actor to play Dr. Bruce Banner. Who is the leading contender? Well none other then Joaquin Phoenix.

Norton was the Incredible Hulk in the last 2008 remake. He did an excellent job in it compared to Eric Bana in the previous.

So why did Norton not get the part for the new Avengers film?

Marvel studios claims:

“Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members,” said Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige in a statement. “The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H., Chris E., Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks.”

This to me stats that Norton does not play well with others. They believe he may not get along with other cast mates and be a pain in the ass on set.

Andrew Garfield has been cast as the new Spider-Man. Garfield is mostly a stage actor based in the UK. He is also good friends with Robert Pattinson. Pattinson should of warned Garfield what is about to happen with his life. So far Garfield has had some minor roles in films. His last film was with Heath Ledger in “Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.” Which was a great film.

The film isn’t do out till July 3, 2012.

After 63 years of being pantless, Wonder Woman is finally covering herself up. In issue # 600 that came out today, our favorite Amazonian women got a facelift. She is now thinner then she already was, tits aren’t hanging out as much, and her who-ha is covered. So why are they going for such a drastic change?

J. Michael Straczynski is the new writer of the series and states that the character is in a new age.

It’s a look designed to be taken seriously as a warrior, in partial answer to the many female fans over the years who’ve asked, “how does she fight in that thing without all her parts falling out?”) She can close it up to pass unnoticed…open it for the freedom to fight…lose the jacket or keep it on…it has pockets (the other fan question, “where does she carry anything in that outfit?”, it can be accessorized…it’s a Wonder Woman look designed for the 21st century. What is Adrienne Cary going to do now? I love seeing photos of her in the Wonder Woman costume, I hope she doesn’t switch to the new one. Keep sporting the old one, it’s sexier.

In other thoughts though, if this is the new age, then shouldn’t they just revamp every DC character. I think DC had an Ultimates version like they do for Marvel it would bring newer fans in. The Ultimate version is doing amazing for Marvel right now. If they have done something like this let me know, I would like to start reading them again. I miss reading comics but would have no clue where to start now because I have no clue what is going on these days.
