Now that the rumor of Christopher Nolan’s villain in the next Batman film will be The Riddler, their are contenders’ names thrown left and right. Two favorites for the film are current Joseph Gordon Levitt and Johnny Depp. The two would both be great for the film, Depp’s ability of being able to transform himself into the character would be amazing. Unfortunately, I do not believe Johnny Depp would be interested in this film.

JGL looks the part and has proven himself lately as a very talented actor.

Now the National Enquirer(most trustworthy news source in the world) is claiming Eminem wants to give the role a try. If you die Slimshaddy’s hair brown I could definitely see it though. Hell why not, he has rhyming experience. He just lacks the acting experience, but I am sure he can play a crazed maniac pretty well.

Now if Nolan ever gives Eminem a chance and he actually gets the part or does not get the part I think he should hire the man as a writer too. I think Eminem consulting on the rhymes of the Riddler would absolutely be amazing. Eminem’s songs have some of the funniest lines in them. I believe in the end the JGL will get the spot. He looks the part and has shown he can be crazy. Take my advice though and get Eminem on the writing team!

Low and behold, one of the greatest trilogies may finally be made. Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are still hoping to do Bill & Ted 3. It has been 19 years since the duo graced the screen in Bill & Teds Bogus Journey. Keanu said he has been actively trying to get this film made. Winter has now agreed and is on board for this film.

Winter spoke and stated that they have met with Reeves and writers to make another chapter in this comedy franchise. The story being kicked around is Bill & Ted have to deal with Little Ted and Little Bill, who are now around the original Bill & Ted’s age. They may use the same technology as they did in Terminator Salvation for Arnold Schwarznegger to look younger, and show Bill & Ted running into their younger selves.

Let’s all hope this great film comes out, as it will be a classic trilogy that we could show our younger kids in years to come. Hahaha.

Now that Andrew Garfield is casted for the new Spider-Man film, they need to find his love interest. Now in the comics you will see that Peter Parker dated Gwen Stacey before he ever did Mary Jane. So of course his love interest in this new film will be Gwen Stacey. I like how they are trying to stick with the comics. Ever since Marvel has taken over their own films, they have done amazing.

In the last Spider-Man film, Bryce Dallas Howard played Gwen Stacey. The leading contenders right now are Lily Collins(The Blind Side), Emma Roberts, Imogen Poots(Fright Night), Ophelia Lovibond(Nowhere Boy), and possibly Teresa Palmer(I Am Number Four). I have not really heard of any of these girls besides Emma Roberts. I believe she will get cut just because she is a little more known.

My personal opinion I would go with Ophelia Lovibond. Change her hair to blonde and she looks like how Gwen Stacey did in the comics. I can really picture her and see her as it. I have never seen a film she has been in, and do not know how her acting is. Anyways, Hollywood has proven you don’t need to know how to act to be in a good film.

The American version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has finally selected it’s lead girl. Nightmare on Elm St. star, Rooney Mara, she will also be in the upcoming Social Network. We will have to check out the Social Network to see how her acting is, because it was terrible in Nightmare on Elm St.

Interesting note, since I was born near the Pittsburgh area, Mara was actually named after her great-grandfather, Art Rooney. Rooney was the founder of the most amazing football team ever, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Also, Timothy Mara, who founded the New York Giants.

Girl with Dragon Tattoo is about a journalist who is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing–or dead0for forty years by a young female hacker. The original was a Denmark film which took the foreign film market by surprise.

It was announced last Friday that writer, Nicolas Sparks, new film “The Lucky One” will not be filmed in it’s true location. The reason for this is because of lead actor’s, Zac Efron, salary is too high to be covered under North Carolina tax incentives. North Carolina’s taxes have seemed to doom the film industry in this state and has made several crew member to relocate to other states for work. It seems the North Carolina does not care about it’s down spiral of an economy and wants to continue to not make films in the state.

Lucky One will set up offices in New Orleans instead of Wilmington, NC. Louisiana offers film companies a 30 percent tax incentive on any project and has no caps on the size or talent pay. North Carolina’s 1 million dollar tax cap on talent pay is what threw this film out. Majority of actors get more then a million for a film, so I have no clue what they are thinking.

It is a shame that Wilmington, NC has to lose another film and have a huge hit on their economy due to greedy politicians. Bringing a big name star like Zac Efron would of brought several tourists to the area and would of increased business in film, restaurants, night life, etc.

Wilmington lost Sparks last film, Last Song, to Georgia last year. It starred Miley Cyrus who then went to local bars and sang for free. This brought in even more income to the area and was a kick in the face to Wilmington, NC. This area used to be a thriving area for film, but is now dying due to it’s state government and it’s greed.

As you all know I just love comic books, and films based on comics. There has been a lot of casting in the new X-men film, X-Men:First Class. The most recent member to join the cast is Twilight actor, Edi Gathegi. You were hoping I would say Taylor Lautner didn’t you?

Edi plays the villianous vamp, Laurent. He will be playing the mutant, Darwin, who has powers to be able to adjust to the environment around him. For example, if he is being shot at with flames he can become flame resistant.

Now as an avid comic book fan, I will admit I did miss this mutant ever in the comics. It is only because he was in a few. It turns out he is a lost X-men. He was one of the original X-men, but was not written to be one till many years later. Darwin was part of a rescue team who went out in search of helping the original X-men.

Alright Wilmington NC, we need to make sure we get this Nicolas Sparks film here this time. It will bring tons of money to our area with all the crazy screaming teeny bopper fans flocking here to see him film if he accepts it. Zac Efron has caught Sparks eye and is hoping that he will sign on to his screen adaption of his book, Lucky One.

The film follows a young Marine who survives three tours of duty in Iraq and attributes his good fortune to a photograph he carried around of a woman he had never met. The marine returns to North Carolina and sets out to find her.

Sparks has had other film adaptions filmed locally in the area such as The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, Message in a Bottle, and Nights in Rodanthe. Unfortunately the past two have fallen victim to the politics here in North Carolina. North Carolina will not give good enough tax breaks like other states to film here and it has damaged the film economy badly. Dear John and Last Song were filmed in Georgia where the tax breaks are better, and I feel if we do not fight for this, Lucky One will also be filmed there.

Efron may not take this project, because he is eyeing a film called Die in a Gunfight, which is like a Romeo and Juliet film. No matter who stars in this film, it will be another big production that hopefully Wilmington can bid for. Efron’s film Charlie St.Cloud comes out this week.

Well it turns out we have another musician who thinks they can act. Rihanna has now got the lead female part for the new film Battleship. Rihanna did do a good job on SNL, I will give her that. I can see her as a young action star. Taylor Kitch(Friday Night Lights, Wolverine) and Alexander Skarsgard(True Blood) will star alongside her.

Battleship is a film adaption of the Hasbro game. I prefer the bathroom game, Battle Shits instead. I think there would be more comedy, drama, and not to forget true emotion in Battle Shits.

Skarsgard and Kitsch will play naval officers. The film will begin shooting in Hawaii end of August.

ComicCon was real big this weekend. As you can see in some of the posts below I have a few articles from it. I am mostly jealous of not ever having the chance to go. I mean they need to have something like that on the East Coast. Show the east coast some love people. Anyways, in my opinion one of the big high lights to ComicCon was the announcement of a possible Entourage movie.

Mark Wahlberg, producer, was asked about the 8th and finale season of Entourage and a possible movie follow up. “We’re still figuring out a couple of story lines for next season,” replied Wahlberg. “We have to figure out where a couple of them will leave off and where the movie will begin.” Wahlberg hopes that the film will happen.

Wahlberg then stated that he was interested in bringing in Robert Pattinson in for a cameo. Some past cameo’s include Bob Saget, John Stamos, Zac Efron, Lebron James, Michael Phelps, and Wahlberg himself.

Well some big green news, Edward Norton will not be the Incredible Hulk in the Avengers movie. Marvel Studios confirmed that it is searching for a new actor to play Dr. Bruce Banner. Who is the leading contender? Well none other then Joaquin Phoenix.

Norton was the Incredible Hulk in the last 2008 remake. He did an excellent job in it compared to Eric Bana in the previous.

So why did Norton not get the part for the new Avengers film?

Marvel studios claims:

“Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members,” said Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige in a statement. “The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H., Chris E., Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks.”

This to me stats that Norton does not play well with others. They believe he may not get along with other cast mates and be a pain in the ass on set.
