Captain Phil Harris dies

Phil Harris, of the Deadliest Catch has died at the age of 53. He suffered a stroke a couple weeks ago while unloading a catch on his boat, and was said to be showing signs of a great recovery. Unfortunately, he could not handle the trauma. His two sons had to say,”Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end. For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down. We will remember and celebrate that strength. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.”

To touch on some local area entertainment news, CW’s television show “One Tree Hill” is filmed in my area. Their latest happenings with the show is that actor, Antwon Tanner, has been sentenced to three months in prison after pleading guilty to dealing stolen social security numbers. Tanner plays the character, Skills Taylor, in the hit CW show. You may also know Tanner from playing as one of the main basketball players on Coach Carter, starring Samual L Jackson. Tanner pleaded guilty in August of 2009 after taking part in an identity scam. He sold over a dozen social security numbers and made well over $10,000.

What blows my mind is that he is a television actor, on a hit tv show. I would figure CW would pay well enough that you do not have to do illegal things to make money. Take it for granted, he’s not like a huge successful star, but that is no excuse to try to make money like that on the side. I am sure that there is many other ways to make some extra funds than selling people’s social security numbers. Three months of prison is a slap on a wrist too. How much money did the people who the social security number’s belong to lose.

Is Warren Beatty, a true DICK Tracey.

A recent “supposed” authorized Warren Beatty biography has claimed that Beatty has slept with as much as 12,775 women. The biography was written by one of Beatty’s possible friends, Peter Biskind. In an interview Biskind said that Beatty initially did not agree to doing a biography, but after becoming friends Beatty decided to let the beans spill with all the ladies he has womped in the years.

Now, Beatty’s attorney has claimed that it was not an authorized biography and should not be published and sites should not include “so-called” interviews or sayings that Beatty did not ever say. So, pretty much the lawyer does not want sites like “Culture Slant” to gossip about Warren Beatty being a pimp. Although, I am sure that Beatty did not authorize this, and why would he? What kind of man would want to publish a book about all the women he has been with besides a total “Dick…Tracey.”

I wouldn’t be surprised that Beatty may have said somethings in front of Biskind, and we all knew women he has been with before too. Biskind could of just put some things together after being friends with him for a while and just put it into a book. I mean i’m sure a lot of us could write books about the stupid things our friends have done in the past and exaggerate about them a bit. Biskind did interview some of Beatty’s former beauties, including Jane Fonda who Biskind said that Beatty quoted that had a great mouth. Next up was Joan Collins who was asked about the happenings of Beatty sleeping with her all the time, she said he could of been but she just lay there.Ouch!

The book the talks about Beatty cheating on Julie Christie almost every day that they were together. Which would have to be true if he was rumored to be with 12,775 women. Come on now. It then went into a bunch of other kinky escapades Beatty may of been involved in, including sex with pregnant women. I’m sure a lot of this was false, and Warren Beatty has always seemed to be a great man and actor. I am sure this book is just jumping on the whole man-whore stories that are going on with Tiger Woods and David Letterman.
