Yesterday evening Penn State officials announced the firing of legendary coach, Joe Paterno. Paterno was the escape goat for Penn States huge scandal involving the child molestation charges of Jerry Sandusky. Sandusky is being charged with molesting eight boys over the 15 years of his career from 1994 to 2009.

Paterno stated:
“Right now, I’m not the football coach — and I’ve got to get used to that,” Paterno — who was in his 46th season with the Nittany Lions — told reporters outside his home. “I’ve got to get used to it. Let me think it through.”

Penn States president, Graham Spanier, was also fired for covering up the molestation. The boards vice chairman, John Surma did not want to go into details about Paterno’s firing. He did say this:

“In our view, we thought change now was necessary,” Surma said. “The Penn State board of trustees tonight decided it is in the best interest of the university to have a change in leadership to deal with the difficult issues that we are facing. The past several days have been absolutely terrible for the entire Penn State community — but the outrage that we feel is nothing compared to the physical and psychological suffering that allegedly took place.”

The bad thing is Penn State could not even give the respect of firing Joe Paterno to his face. They had to give him a phone call. Real mature PSU.

After the announcement students took to the streets to riot. They flipped over news vans, broke windows, and were fighting with cops.

Two others will be charged with Sandusky, athletic director Tim Curley and vice president of finance Gary Schultz for not turning it into police and covering it up.

I will say this, one I am looking forward to seeing their last home game this weekend. I bet there will be even more riots.

No my opinion on Paterno’s firing, well he was it was due time he was about to leave. It was just sad this was the reason he had to leave. Now remember this Paterno is not the molestor, he was just associated with him. A player did tell Paterno about the incident, Paterno went to higher ups and did inform them. They were suppose to do an internal investigation. All Paterno knows is Sandusky was fired for reasons and that should be it. Well supposedly Paterno should of done more and made sure his bosses turned the guy into the police, and he did not do that.

I try to put myself in people’s situation. Paterno’s case is pretty much stating that me, being in the military, would hear about a molestation accusation. I would go turn it into my Colonel who is my boss. My Colonel should turn it into the military police and they would do their investigation. If they found something, I would believe they would handle it and take care of it, I am all done with what I done. Well, years later I find out that my Colonel just covered it up. I guess that means because I did my part, I should still be fired because my Colonel didn’t do his part.

Crazy night last night in football. The Greenbay Packers beat out the Chicago Bears in the first game of the day then came the Steelers versus the Jets. The first half was a shut out by the Steelers, with the Steelers looking great offensively and defensively. The Steelers scored 24 unanswered points in the first half alone. My favorite part of the first half was watching Mark Sanchez pick his nose and wipe it on his teammate as seen in this video.

The second half was haunting for the Steelers as the Pittsburgh Steeler’s defense never came back out of the locker room. I know I would stay in that heat too, as the temperature dropped down to -8 degrees by the time the game was over last night. The Jets dominated the second half coming back and tightened their grip on the Steelers. It was the last drive by the Steelers that just beat out the Jets as the Steelers were able to hold onto the victory. The Jets loss I would contribute to poor coaching and the use of time outs in the wrong time. The highlight of the second half was Steeler’s Mendenhaal’s victory dance.

I hope you all enjoyed the celebration and look forward to seeing the Steelers vs the Packers in Dallas.

Ben Roethlisberger was suspended by the NFL for 6 games. This was all based on a crime that he was not proven to commit and no evidence as found. The only thing Big Ben is guilty of is going out to the bars and acting like a normal person his age. Unfortunately, when you are rich and have money girls will do what they can and then say something else. Now, the NFL is not backing one of their own by punishing some one for a crime they did not commit. Take it for granted it is for only 6 games out of 18 game season. What blows my mind is they let back in a murderer this year after only one year suspension. So, lets see you can murder some one and get a 18 game suspension, but if you possibly raped a girl you get 6 games.

I think if Ben was convicted or they found evidence to possibly show that he did, I can understand it. I am outraged at the NFL for not supporting their own.

I am a huge Steelers fan, and I just do not believe these accusations. Ben Roethlisberger was recently in Milledgeville, Georgia where him and a few of his friends decided to go clubbing. A 20 year old is claiming that Roethlisberger sexually assaulted her Friday. As of right now Roethlisberger was not under arrest because police could not see any evidence at the time that showed she was assaulted besides what she has said.

There is currently two stories the police were told. The victim said she was assaulted in the women’s bathroom and her friends state that she was assaulted in a dark hallway. Ben’s attorney stats that facts show there was no criminal activity and no sexual assault occured. The police are looking into it and are going to question Ben today, and also look at camera tapes from the club.

I bet it is some money hungry girl, and she is trying to get some of his cash. She wants to become famous off of being a whore like Tiger Woods girls are. She was probably all over Ben at the party and they may of did stuff and then she turned around and said that she was assaulted. It could be that Ben was just in the club and this girl said “hi” to him and Ben showed no interest and walked away and she then claims sexual assault. Why would Roethlisberger have to go and assault a girl when I am sure there is some woman out there who wants him. I think he needs to find a woman fast so he would stop having all these charges thrown at him or not just leave the home.

Celebrities and people in the public figure need a sex contract. All participants must sign here consenting they are going to let me touch their breast, and do the nasty with them. Once signed no charges can be filed stating that you were assaulted or the sexual agreement never happened.

I think a lawyer could make some kind of money out of that agreement.

I know many may say that I might be too harsh on this, but it has really made me dissapointed in the NFL. Last year, Donte Stallworth, struck a pedestrain while driving under the influence killing him in Miami. Now, Florida has this crazy law that if both people are at fault in a vehicle accident that charges are less punitive I guess. Stallworth was driving while intoxicated and hit a man coming out of work who was walking across the street. Florida found that both were at fault since the man did not use a crosswalk. So, according to Florida it is okay to kill a person while driving as long as they are not on a crosswalk.

Stallworth was given only a 30 day jail sentence for killing a man. I thought the NFL commissioner gave Stallworth an even harsher penalty saying he was suspended indefinitely, 1 year = indefinitely. I am sorry, but killing a man is worse than doing dog fights. The NFL was much more harsher to Michael Vick than they were Stallworth. I love dogs and was upset with Vick, but a life is a life.

Now Stallworth is getting another chance and was signed with the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens signed Stallworth to a 1 year contract. Stallworth stated,”There was a time I felt the mistake I made was the end of the world for me,” Stallworth said in a statement. “I will never get that morning back. It weighs on me every day and will for the rest of my life. What I can do is move forward, try to be a better person, try to convince others not to do what I did and warn others about the dangers of drinking and driving. I have to show otherwise that what happened doesn’t reflect who I am.

“I have to prove that, and, hopefully, I’m on my way to doing that. I know my apology will never be strong enough for some, but I’ve made changes, and I’m trying to be a positive influence. It’s an honor and privilege to play in the NFL, and I’m so thankful for this opportunity.”

It is good that he is getting an opportunity, because that guy he killed is not.

This weekend in sports was the first series of the NFL playoffs. Saturday night line-up was the Cincinnati Bengals vs. the NY Jets. This seemed to be the only good playoff game this entire weekend as the two teams battled it out till the end, but Jets took a 10 point lead. Unfortunately, after a long battle the Bengals lost mostly due to a bad FG kick early in the first half.

The second game for Saturday night was Dallas Cowboys vs the Philly Eagles. They blew Philly out of the water 34-14. Most fans blamed the coaching and wanted Michael Vick to stay in and play since Donovan McNabb seemed to not be able to produce anything that night.

The first game on Sunday was the Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots. I just loved this game, not because I enjoy watching either team. I actually despise both of them. Ravens is the lesser of the two evils though, and I would of rather seem them beat out the cocky Patriots. I always enjoy seeing Tom Brady cry at the end of a football game, or Bill Belichick throw a childish fit. Brady threw 3 interceptions and fumbled the football. During a press interview, Brady said that he would of booed the Patriots all night too. The announcers were poking fun at them stating “Who are these imposters in the Patriots uniforms.” This was by far the worse I have ever seen the Patriots.

Finally, the Arizona Cardinals gave a pecking to the Green Bay Packers. This too looked like an easy game, until the Packers came back. It was a great battle, but neither defense showed up to the game resulting in such high scores as Cardinals 51, Packers 45. It went down in history as the highest scoring playoff game. It is nothing to be proud of though.

In other news, Pete Carroll who led USC to seven Pacific 10 Conferences has agreed to take the Seattle Seahawks coaching position. The players learned through text messages from the assistant coach.

Well, I don’t think so. Los Angeles is planning on building a new stadium and purchase one of the teams that are having financial difficulty. The top two on the list, the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars. The reason LA wants to bring the teams there is because they believe it would bring in more money and have a bigger fan-base than what the two teams have now. The is a slap in the face for Bills fans. I know quite a bit of fans in my area and we aren’t near Buffalo what so ever. The fans will feel like they just got their lolly-pop snatched away from them like a big bully.

Anyways, there is no definite on this anyways. LA has been saying they are going to build a stadium and want a team for years now. Although, this time they are a bit closer to doing so this time. Worry when they actually have the stadium built. Why buy old teams, lets create new. I know you have to have the same amount of teams in each division, so create like 8 more teams. How much fun would that be.

Besides the Bills and Jags, LA is also looking at purchasing the San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers, Vikings, Rams, and even Oakland Raiders. I think they need to go with one of the two California based teams already. No reason to have 3 teams in California, when two of them already suck.
