Oscar insults Horror Films

Author: blake | Filed under: Awards

Stewart and Lautner
Last night the Oscar’s tried to pay tribute to Horror Films. It unfortunately ended up a little bit of an insult to me at one point. I started to get weary at the get go when they had Twilight stars, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, come out and present this tribute. I am thinking what are these two people doing paying tribute to horror films. In the midst of all the tribute the Oscars did pay tribute to a lot of Horror greats, but I believe they had their genres mixed up.

The tribute started off with Jaws and included classics the Dracula, Frankenstein, Birds, Psycho, etc. It also featured our favorite 80 horror films like Nightmare on Elm St., Child’s Play, Friday the 13th, Halloween, etc. It then started to mix in some mystery and suspense movies in there too, which I would not categorize as horror films. One Part that completely insulted me was when they included the film Twilight as a horror. Excuse me!! Twilight is now a horror, it is a children’s fantasy movie.

It made it all clear now why the Oscar’s had Stewart and Lautner present, as they were stupid enough to say that “Twilight” is a horror. You just kicked all those movies in the junk by even putting Twilight in the same league as them. There were a few other films that were more fantasy than horror in the category too, but this was by far the biggest blow.
