New casting rumors are webbing around about the new Spider-Man film. We have Spider-Man picked out, so who is going to be his love interest, Gwen Stacey? As you recall Gwen was not introduced till the sequels of the last Spider-Man franchise. In reality Gwen was Peter Parker’s girlfriend before Mary Jane was even in the picture according to the comics.

Rumor has it that Hilary Duff is being eyed to play the love interest. I do not find this to be a bad idea at all. The only thing I am wondering is if you have a major known star like Duff playing Gwen, it my shadow less known actor Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. I think they will have to go with a lesser known individual for Gwen too.
